Authors

Abstract

In the context of the pluriculturalism of the Peruvian State, this article seeks to highlight the work of the Ministry of Development and Social Inclusion to revalue the ancestral cultural practices of the elderly through the transmission of a radio program. This paper will explain, first, the legal and social context in which the older adult population finds itself in Peru. Secondly, it will analyze the three approaches under which the program is developed: human rights, interculturality and intersectionality. Next, the origins and scope of the radio program will be detailed and, finally, a reference will be made to the rights that arise from the aforementioned intervention: the right to cultural identity, freedom of expression and opinion, independence and autonomy in old age, and community participation and integration.
